30 Sep 07 - 08:27 PM (#2160749) Subject: Happy Birthday Curmudgeon! From: Jeri You always started these things for me, so I owe you. The Portsmouth Maritime fest that Curmudgeon organized was the best yet and he departed for a birthday dinner. Amazingly, he almost coasted through this beautiful day without a birthday thread! You made this a lovely day for a lot of people, and I know you had a good one too. Happy Birthday, my friend. |

From: SINSULL He almost made it through the day without a birthday song too, First he got the Hallelujah Chorus Birthday Song, then a funeral dirge from Peter and gardy, and finally "You're no bloody use to aqnyone..." from most of the street. An appropriate end to a stunningly beautiful day filled with great music. Happy birthday, Tom. You gift awaits. MAry |

01 Oct 07 - 07:52 AM (#2160997) Subject: RE: Happy Birthday Curmudgeon! From: Bat Goddess I fit in a few minutes to greet Tom with "Happy B.D.!" first thing in the morning, then gave him a gift that I spent hours slaving over the wrapping of -- tastefully folded the Barnes & Noble bag around it and scribbled "Happy Birthday" on a bright colored 3x5 file card. I KNOW I have a real birthday card in the card drawer somewhere (because I always acquire these things early), but didn't have time to find it, sign it, rubberstamp the envelope, etcet etcet. We stopped at Newick's on the way home for Tom's birthday dinner (ten bucks off -- only on your birthday) and watched the sun set over Great Bay while eating some of the sweetest whole fried clams (Tom) and haddock and shrimp (me). Arghh...gotta go to work (and leave Tom to write the festival thank yous to the newspapers, etc. Linn |
