Singaround/sessions near Milton Keynes?

I have to go to Milton Keynes on the 20th October.

I shall be travelling down on the 19th and staying overnight. Are any sessions or singarounds in the area on Friday nights?

Tootler - Do you know how BIG Milton Keynes is - ie. the area of the city?

Who, when with Adderbury Morris - years ago was invite by Brackley Morris to a May Morning Tour of ALL the Watneys pubs in Milton Keynes - why did we turn them down?

There's the Bull in Barton Le Clay - singaround on the 19th

About twenty drive from MK - village pub with locals

Here's what's on in Beds/Herts - Info

and beware of concrete cows and bovver boys from Wimbledon

Indoor skiing is an option as MK has an indoor slope

Or parachuting without taking orf in the vertical wind machine experience

The big wheel, wife swapping and religion are other important highlights

No, but I'm sure if I ask, you'll tell me, so I'm asking, though I have driven through/round MK on a couple of occasions.

I doubt it is actually any bigger than the urban sprawl that is Teesside which is where I live and I regularly go across the conurbation to one local folk club.

All I was looking for was somewhere welcoming to visitors reasonably near where I could spend a pleasant evening rather than staying cooped up in an anonymous hotel room.

The Bull at Barton sounds promising. Do they welcome visitors and what time do they usually start?

Hi Tootler

Yes - we welcome visitors (not in a Kathy Bates sort of way)

We are a friendly, polite and well behaved group of folkies (sort of Benny Hill meets the Simpsons)

We start 8.30ish and they also do food in the pub if you wish to sample a Sharpenhoe Clanger

MK is so big that the street maps come in a trilogy

I'm in north-west London, so the distinction between Bucks/Beds/Herts tends to get lost on me. I just know that it is a long way to drive to the sessions I want to go to ;-(
