One Million Voices concerts cancelled

One Million Voices, a grassroots organization of Israeli and Palestinian peace activists (and supporters around the world including myself) was planning simultaneous peace concerts this coming Thursday in Tel Aviv and Jericho.

Unfortunately, death threats against the Palestinian artists and organizers, by Palestinian groups opposed to peace and a two-state solution, has forced the cancellation of the event.

C. Ham: I tried joining to become a member but my registration seemed to freeze. Did it twice. Any suggestions?

Hi Peace,

I don't know. Maybe the website is having problems from too many people trying to access it at once. I signed up a few weeks ago without any problem.

OK, thanks. I'll give it another shot. (Let me rephrase that: I'll give it another try.)

There is an article about the One Voice peace rally in Ottawa on the Ottawa Jewish Bulletin newspaper site written by "Michael" Regenstreif. I checked with him and Michael is, indeed, Mike Regenstreif of CKUT and much other folk music fame. Mike is now assistant editor of the newspaper and said the article would be up on the website just until the next issue on November 19.
