Casting memories everywhere
On that old front porch down by ...........store
Where my granddaddy rested his arm,...............
In that old rocking chair that don't rock no more.

I think Jerry Jeff Walker did it but can't seem to find it.

Here ya go. Rick Cardwell. "Rockin' Chair".
    Rockin' Chair - Rick Cardwell

There's an old rockin' chair castin' memories everywhere
On that old home porch across from Tipple's store.
You can see where the arm is worn
Where my granddaddy rested his arm
In that old rockin' chair that don't rock no more.

I was horn in a broken home, I was blinded by things gone wrong.
I had no vision of what the future held in store.
    Just a baby barely three
When my granddaddy came to me
To rock me in the rockin' chair that don't rock no more.

    Chorus

If the rockin' chair could read the thoughts from people's minds,
Oh the stories it would tell time after time.
    Stories others never hear.
Of the thought s one holds so dear.
Oh how I wish I could've read my grandpa's mind.

Granddaddy lived the Christian way, truth and goodness he portrayed.
He loved to gather his thoughts as he rocked on the hardwood porch.
Yes he loved to sit and rock.
Payin' no attention to the time on the clock.
And rocked me in the rockin' chair that don't rock no more.

    Chorus

You the man.
Thanks, Will sing it Saturday evening along with "And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda". Plus one I wrote a few years back "Lay Your Head Upon My Chest".

now i know that "other" song i was thinking of was actually
"There's an old SPINNING WHEEL in the parlor.." the tune kept going
thru my head with the words Rodking Chair in the parlor..
here is a nice quote, though....
Worry is like a rocking chair; it keeps you busy, but gets you nowhere.
