Here's what happened: Salty Walt, who was helping me put away chairs, along with mudcatter Melani, mentioned that John said right afterwards that he was having a problem with his leg. I caught up with him and his host, plus mudcatter LindaM, as they were walking down the pier. He suspected it had to do with the flight affecting circulation. I checked his leg, which had some red streaks, and a red flag went off with me when John mentioned he felt shivers earlier. His symptoms matched mine of last December, when I had cellulitis! We urged him to get to emergency asap. He, his host/driver Betsy, and Linda took him to the hospital, and it turned out to be just that: cellulitis. Linda reported that they gave him oral antibiotics, and he was let go to do his house concert on Sunday. I'm in New York this week, so I have no further news. John, we hope all is on the mend. Everything looks good. Quite sure we don't need my complete medical history up here. But special thanks to Chanteyranger who was very solicitous in the prediagnosis, and who insisted I hit the emergency room, despite my protests. And a very civilized one too, at St. Francis Catholic Hospital, San Francisco. (Lucky I didn't need an abortion, though). They fixed me right up, with a big blue pill and a prescription for more.
