Poor Howard Stith is back

Subject: Poor Howard Stith is back
From: Leadbelly

To all afficinados of classic blues I would like to recommend the new website of "Poor" Howard Stith from Dover, NH. If you like the music of Leadbelly, Blind Willie McTell and others please listen to some samples!

"Seacoast musician Poor Howard is back! He is recording a new album of original and classic Blues songs, and has a new website (http://poorhoward.great-works.net/) with sound samples from his earlier album Cultivated Blues. If you get a chance to hear him in person, go do it! His music is fantastic - you've got to hear what he can do on a 12-string - and would be reason enough to go, but Howard's often offbeat humor and stage presence makes his live performances something you really won't want to miss."

I have never heard Poor Howard; however, no thread deserves to have but one post about a musician.

Maybe he used to be poor, then made some money for a while, spent it all, so he's back 'cos he's poor again?

In addition to being a fine musician,   Poor Howard is a really neat person whosee repertoire extends well beyond blues - Tom

Peace, thanks for your first reply as to this thread! I didn't expect that you've heard of Howard because he isn't known in UK. But I have had the hope that some people are interested in good, old blues. Please listen to the sample of Statesboro Blues to form a judgement. Naturally, nobody is compelled to do so.

Mr Happy: completely wrong. Poor is adapted from Leadbelly's "Poor Howard".

Many thanks to curmudgeon!

I first met Poor Howard back when he was still living in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St. Paul). Glad to hear he has a new recording out.
