I infortunately didn't catch the name of the singer: can anybody help with any background info, recording details or whateve? I was gobsmacked, and I am rarely gobsmacked! |

Like getting a cassette compilation from a friend at Christmas, somebody who has put good thought into an interesting selection. So your mind is expanded by hearing stuff you don't know about, but are now delighted to have discovered. A few old favourites, some challenging new material that makes you think. Great stuff altogether. |

25 Oct 07 - 04:02 AM (#2178675) Subject: RE: Eliza Carthy on BBC Radio 3 (UK) From: Mrs_Annie I'm remembering a few years ago when Eliza stood in for Archie Fisher on his BBC Radio Scotland programme. It was a gem and I am so pissed I didn't record it. She had several musicians there in the studio as guests - from memory Spiers & Boden, Andy Cutting? Anyway it was very good. I said then she should be given a radio show. |

I recall thinking at the time it was typical of EC to play all English music on a Radio Scotland show! |
