23 Oct 07 - 02:42 PM (#2177483) Subject: Song of America - Reno on UK radio From: Herga Kitty The BBC 4 radio programme "Today" ran an interview this morning with Janet Reno about Song of America, and played extracts from some of the tracks, including the Native American funeral chant, the Battle Hymn of the Republic, and This Land is My Land. (I wonder whether the Beeb would have run the item without the Reno connection.) The interview was around 7.45am (before the item about the Catholic Church's position on abortion), and wasn't considered important enough to be mentioned on the Today website page . But at least folk music got a mention on a flagship BBC radio programme.... Kitty . |
