Alone and blue Upon my bosom lies a picture With tear dimmed eyes I placed it there Down on my knees I pray to heaven But angels heed no sinner's prayer A sinner's prayer is never answered A sinner's hopes are all in vain The one I love now loves another I'll never see my love again Dear Lord above please hear my pleading Bow not my head in dark despair She's all I love, She's all I'm needing Oh, won't you heed a sinner's prayer |

The other one she would sing from the same revised c/d was "Mama Please Stay Home With Me". I had forgotten about that one as well. Thanks again Beer (adrien) |

In bygone days more people died as young people and babies and they often suffered and died at home. Thus, people were closer and more vulnerable to death (more prima tive medicine ,when available). People were more aware of the imminence of death and this was reflected in their major form of entertainment-home-made music. |

Oh, sinner man, where you gonna run to? Oh, sinner man, where you gonna run to all on that day? Run to the moon, "Moon won't you hide me?" Run to the sea, "Sea won't you hide me?" Run to the sun, "Sun won't you hide me all on that day?" Lord says, "Sinner man, the moon'll be a bleeding." Lord says, "Sinner man, the sea'll be a sinking." Lord says, "Sinner man, the sun'll be a freezin' all on that day!" Run to the Lord, "Lord won't you hide me?" Run to the Lord, "Lord won't you hide me?" Run, run, "Lord won't you hide me all on that day?" Lord says "Sinner man, you should've been a praying." Lord says "Sinner man, you should've been a praying." Lord says "Sinner man, you should've been a praying all on that day." Digg This - Add to del.icio.us - Here's another song about a sinner man: |

25 Oct 07 - 10:43 PM (#2179403) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: A Sinner's Prayer From: Peace " Charlotte The story about Frozen Charlotte was told in a poem or song. A frozen Charlotte doll was found in one of the carpenter's toolboxes, wrapped in a woolen sock. The doll had no clothes on, except for a bonnet and mittens, because the children would make the clothes for the doll. This is the story of Frozen Charlotte: It was New Years Eve and it was very cold outside. Charlotte was waiting in her new dress for her boyfriend, Charles, to take her to the village inn for a New Year's Eve party. Finally, Charles' sleigh came. Her mother asked her to put a blanket around her so she wouldn't be too cold. But Charlotte did not want to crinkle her dress, so she did not take the blanket. The village inn was 15 miles away. They had gone five miles when Charlotte said she was cold. Charles made the horses run faster. Five more miles they rode when Charlotte said she was getting warmer. Finally, the village inn was in sight. Charles jumped out and called her many times. Charlotte did not move or say a word because she was frozen. Then he came over to her and felt her hands. They were very cold. He now knew that Charlotte had frozen to death. He rode Charlotte back to her cottage. Her parents were very sad. Charles was very upset, too. He died of a broken heart." Found on the 'net with a google of "frozen charlotte" |
