30 Oct 07 - 01:47 PM (#2182763) Subject: Pig Dyke Molly are looking for musicians From: SarahNash Pig Dyke Molly are looking to expand their band with additional lead/melody line musicians. The current line up is melodeon, percussion and the famous sousaphone. For those not "in the know", Pig Dyke dance traditional East Anglian Molly in our own special way, and dress in surreal black and white. Practices are on Mondays, 8.15-10.00 in Peterborough, and we have a number of local and national festival bookings lined up for next year. If you're interested, or just fancy coming along to see what we're all about, then call Tony Forster on 01733 345 883 (leave a message on the answerphone) or email jantony@waitrose.com More info about us on the web site – www.pigdyke.co.uk |

30 Oct 07 - 06:45 PM (#2182989) Subject: RE: Pig Dyke Molly are looking for musicians From: McGrath of Harlow Here are a few Pig Dyke Molly vids on YouTube. Spaw's puzzlement reminds me of the time the Black Dyke Band went on a tour of the States a few years ago, and they had to drop the name in all their publicity for fear of misunderstanding and they just called themselves "Brass Band from Yorkshire, England" or something like that. (And here they are in action.) |

Our feeble little team from Canada Orange Peel Morris are planning a tour of England for next year and Pig Dyke are one of the teams we hope to get together with. So if you give me a list of tunes we can certainly join your band for one night. Good Luck with your hunting, hope to meet you in person in July 08 JohnB. |

Incidently I live about two miles from Black Dyke Mills. eric |

Should be interesting. Whatever happens, we can't be there for the Straw Bear weekend, which is a bit of a shame. Anahata |
