Ýmsir (Icelandic band) - any info?

Faffing around on the Gracenote world music map I see that a band called Ýmsir is high in the charts in Iceland. Folky, my websearches reveal - but I haven't found any of their music. Anyone got any web links?

So I did a wee search and found this page on Last FM where upon I found this quote..... "ýmsir" isn't an artist; it's the Icelandic term for "various", used on compilations etc."
Hmmm!

I think Skarpi's too busy with the Elves, right now.

Maybe they're the Icelandic equivalent of our ubiquitous 'Singers Night'... appearing at dozens of folk clubs up and down the country!

No wonder I couldn't find them! Thanks, Jim Lad.

Blame the Gracenote map - I was surprised that many of the Icelandic top 10 singles and albums were by bands such as the Beatles, and thought Ýmsir was a folky Icelandic band. Probably some compilation album.

JTT: Your a brave soul. Glad to be of help.
(I'd find another handle before someone puts an "E" in front of it.)

Njal's Saga is not just a great book, it is a Great Book, one of the monuments of world literature. If I had to chose just one book to read for the rest of my life, Njal's Saga would be the one.
