Deb even paid homage to the Stuck in Lodi" song. This is the secont time I've heard Deb in concert, and both times were absolutely delightful. She has a remarkably rich voice, and her choice of songs is very satisfying - they're songs that we folk geeks will like, but they're also very acceptable to a broader audience. Heck, she even made "Walloping Window Blind" interesting, and she slipped in a wicked rendition of "Johnny Be Fair" and even a sea chantey. I guess what I liked best was when Deb stepped away from the microphone and sang a cappella. The concert was in a beautiful Episcopalian church, but the acoustics were a bit too "live" and swallowed up some of her lyrics. When she moved away from the mike, she filled the room with her voice, and it was lovely. Go hear Deb. She's good. -Joe Offer- |
