29 Nov 07 - 05:38 PM (#2205066) Subject: Tune Req: MAXWELL From: Slag I remember a Phil Silvers show about a singing contest. I believe it was the episode entitled "The Singing Contest" but so far I haven't had much success on the web finding out about it. The gist of the plot was this: Pvt. (?) Paparelli was discovered to have a great singing voice so Sgt. Bilko enters him in a competition and he does a marvelous job with a song called "Maxwell". But he has a cold so Bilko (Silvers) sets about to cure him, which he does, but to his chagrin, Paparelli can only sing like that when he HAS a cold. So much for the story. This was 1958 or '59 and I've always remembered that beautiful song but I have never heard it since and I'm not having much luck finding out about it. Any help? |

You will have to use your mind's ear to change the cold, clinical sound of a MIDI grand piano to the resonant voice of a talented male vocalist. |
