A few odd questions

30 Nov 07 - 01:54 PM (#2205672)
Subject: Trying to remember ..assorted questions
From: lefthanded guitar

1. Someone who's standing over my shoulder at the computer lab here is eager to see and/or hear a version of...ah...Maurice Chevalier (and I believe Hermoine Ginghold) singing:

"Ah yes, I remember it well."   Can anyone point me to the place where I could find the song? I would do it myself but can't remember how ;-)

2.Another thing I can't remember. You know that funny lady who writes funny songs and twirls the batons in a funny way? I always forget her name, even tho I've seen her in person several times. She did a funny song about meeting Harrison Ford, I'm also trying to find the musical version of that if possible.

3. Where can I buy an add on pick-up for an acoustic guitar that doesn't hurt the guitar and is decent but not too expensive?

4. Have you seen my tan sneakers? I can't find them anywhere.

eBay -- I got a Lace pickup that's pretty nice, and doesn't require any modification to the instrument. There are also many other makes available there. If you don't want to use eBay to buy, it's still a good place to see what's available and what kind of prices are "out there."

As for the first two questions, I suspect YouTube will allow you to search on Chevalier and "I Remember It Well." The Harrison Ford song might be findable through "the Google," if you use enough keywords.

Good luck on the sneakers, though. They're likely to have been reported as a bio-hazard and removed by the hazmat team.

First, what type of condom do you use? This is a very old question here and we need to know.

Are you aware that William Shatner has a possum up his ass?

Do you know the name of the possum?

Have you ever employed Blake Madison?

I'm pretty sure that scene took place in the film "Gigi" -- hope that helps.

Why Poppa....He's the most famous private dick on Mudcat! There are quite a number of public dicks here as well.

Youtube ain't got it but here's the lyrics, if you can answer the questions:

He: She:
We met at nine. We met at eight.
I was on time. No, you were late.
Ah yes! I remember it well.

We dined with friends. We dined alone.
A tenor sang. A baritone.
Ah yes! I remember it well.

That dazzling April moon! There was none that night,
And the month was June.

That's right! That's right!
It warms my heart to know that
you remember still the way you do.
Ah yes! I remember it well.

How often I've thought of that Friday, Monday
night,
when we had our last rendez-vous.
And somehow I've foolishly wondered
if you might by some chance be
thinking of it too?

That carriage ride. You walked me home.
You lost a glove. I lost a comb.
Ah yes! I remember it well.

That brilliant sky. We had some rain.
Those Russian songs. From sunny Spain.
Ah yes! I remember it well.

You wore a gown of gold. I was all in blue.
Am I getting old? Oh no! Not you!
How strong you were,
how young and gay;
A prince of love in every way.
Ah yes! I remember it well.

As for #2, would that be Christine Lavin? Yes, it would, from her album Final Exam.

According the book "Silas Marner" your tan sneaker can only be in one of three places: in the thatch, under the bed, or in a hole in the floor.

From: Amos

The Harrison Ford song is definitely Christine Lavin's.

Harrison Ford
from the album Getting In Touch With My Inner Bitch

Harrison Ford
Words and Music by Christine Lavin
Recorded live at the Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs NY
on August 20 1999 by Bob Noble of Hill & Valley Studio

A small town in the Rockies
The Snake River Grill
My friend and I were leaving
We were stuffed to the gills
We walked toward the exit
The door swung open wide
Another couple is coming in
Now I’m eye to eye with

Harrison Ford
The only living movie star I’ve ever adored
Harrison Ford
He’s stepping back, he’s holding the door
Harrison Ford
Takes all my concentration not to fall on the floor
At the feet of that fabulous mega-movie star
Harrison Ford (sigh)

For one brief moment, we are face to face
Our eyeballs are locked
We are sharing the same space
Suddenly, I’m overcome with emotion
I hear music playing now I’m walking in slow motion

It’s Harrison Ford
Those eyes those lips that hair
Harrison Ford
Our breath comes out white clouds mingles and hangs in the air
Harrison Ford
If I could only tell him how much I care
I want to kiss Harrison Ford
But I don’t dare

‘Cause he paralyzes me with his laser like gaze
Time stops, he communicates telepathically with me through the haze
And he says to me just using a little bit his eyeballs and just
a little tiny bit of his eyebrows he says to me:

Now you know that I know that you know who I am
Now you know that I know you are my biggest fan
But I’m out here having dinner with my lovely wife
We live in this tiny town because we need a life, OY!
I’m nothing like the character of Indiana Jones
I’m just a regular guy
Okay.. with better brawn and brains and bones
To keep you moving little lady, I’ll flash you my crooked smile
Something you can tell your friends for quite a long long while
In case you haven’t noticed, I’m still holding the door for you
Don’t ruin the evening for all of us, just keep walking through
Put one foot in front of the other, my hands are getting cold
Your friend is wondering what’s going on keep on moving I command you
Do as you are told!

So I did
I obeyed his command
Even telepathically Harrison Ford’s a powerful man
I kept on walking out that door
As it closed behind me I knew this moment would forever bind me to

Harrison Ford
I’ll never forget our mental embrace
Harrison Ford
Probably thought I was a psycho case
Harrison Ford
Lucky for me he does not carry mace

Yes, I love Harrison Ford. He's my own personal tender tough guy.
And I know you women love him. And I know you guys admire him too and
would probably like to do a woodworking project with him in the garage,
because you know he used to be a carpenter before he was an actor,
I’m talking about a real carpenter, not like Bob Villa, that fake
carpenter on television. You know I heard a rumor that Bob Villa's
going out with Martha Stewart. I Hope they don't have children!
Do you know who would spend the whole day with Bob Villa and Martha
Stewart? Nobody!

Anyway, I know some of you are thinking "this is really pathetic.
She has a three second experience with a movie star an she writes
a three minute song". But if that's what you're thinking you would
be very very wrong, because it was a one second experience and it's
a four minute song.

But I didn't say the name of the town where this happened because I
want to protect his privacy in case we ever meet.

And I love him SO much that whenever I hear his name, I hear music
And maybe you do too... it sounds like this:

(digital boomerang sampler on...)

Harrison Ford
Harrison
Harrison Ford
Harrison
Harrison Ford
Harrison

You're the...

It's in the cupboard - hiding.
You don't have a dog, do you?
My Granddaughter's sandal was chewed by a dog when she was visiting their place. Grrrr!

Thanks to all. I could not download Gigi on this computer, will try it another. I love that Harrison Ford song. Do you know I saw Christine at Clearwater, and asked her to do this song and she refused. Said she couldn't remember the words!!

I think she's got my shoes tho.

My girlfriend sat at a counter in a greasy spoon in Jackson, WY, one day for breakfast. She was almost done when she glanced over at the man seated next to her, eating his own breakfast and reading a paper. It was Harrison Ford. They had a nice conversation, just like he was a regular guy and then my friend left.

kat, dear....a couple points..
1) There ARE no greasy spoons in Jackson.
2) Actually, Harrison Ford is just a regular guy!
(hee hee....)

LHG....I TOLD you, the dog ate your shoes and the remnants are in the back yard.

It was an old-fashioned diner with a counter; the locals go there, not the tourists. A diner always has grease of some sort, even if you can't see it from out front. And, maybe he is! He's supposed to be filming around here sometime soon, so maybe I'll get a chance to find out.:-)

As for the sneakers, whenever I couldn't find something my Grandad used to say "it'll find you when it's ready".

And it usually did!

Ah thanks for the report kat. I actually saw Harrison in person a year ago, giving a talk about movies. Sigh. Sigh. Yes Harrison is a regular sort of guy, except a regular guy with an extraordinary perfect face, height, hair, muscles etc. (very VERY smart too) Can't wait for Indy 4,coming out next year.

Oh my oh my, Maurice singing on my thread. Harrison in the diner. A happy holiday this is.

But I still think Christine stole my sneakers.
