RNLI benefits from Herts Winter Sing

Subject: RNLI benefits from Herts Winter Sing
From: Albi

The Stopsley (Luton)Branch of the RNLI acknowledge with grateful thanks the donation of £213.70 raised at the FolkMusic Winter Sing 2007 held this year at "The Bull" PH at Barton-le-Cley over the weekend of 15th and 16th November.
The Winter Sing event, organised by John Gray, Alan Francis and his wife Elizabeth from folkmusic.org.uk , was supported by many other performers all of whom gave their time and talents freely and unstintingly. Thus helping to raise the grand total which includes monies put into the collection 'boat'.
The RNLI is a voluntary organisation dedicated to saving lives at sea, it does not receive any support from Government sources, but relies on donations and fund-raising events for its finances.
This generous donation will help the RNLI to continue with their vital and often very demanding services at sea, and increasing more often these days in times of flood, inland as well.

Many thanks for posting here Albi, all of us who attended or performed were glad to be able to raise some funds for such a worthy cause. And we had such a good time doing it too *grin* Thanks too to Alan & Elizabeth, John, Ross and also Rachel and Bob at the Bull who made this years Winter Sing possible!

Aw, shucks, it was nuffin!

Glad to help the RNLI, and have a lot of fun doing it!

I have a soft spot for them - thus far the RNLI is the only charity that has done me any good (they rescued me from a sinking sailing dinghy off Clacton aeons ago), though I have hopes for "Help the Aged" in days to come.

Alan

The 2008 winter sing will be held on the 15th & 16th November

Same format as last year

Details of performers to follow

Hope you can all pencil it in your diaries

It will be at the Bull ph in Barton Le Clay - MK45 4LL

An excellent charity which we always support if we can. With the north and south coasts both less than 25 miles away, we know the excellent work they do.
