One of the classic Israeli folksongs, based on a text from the Song of Solomon and a Yemenitish melody by Sarah Levi-Tanai.

To the Nut Grove

El ginat egoz yeradeti
lir'ot be'ivei hanachal,
lir'ot haparcha hagefen,
hanetzu rimonim.

lecha, dodi, netze'a hasade,
nalina bachfarim, nashkima lakramim
nir'eh im parcha hagefen,
pite'ach hasemadar.

uri tzafon ubo'i teiman
hafichi gani, izlu besamav,
yavo dodi legano
yochal peri megadav.

I remember an Israel Dance to this tune back in 1952 with an IZFA dance group at the U-Conn. Darned if I could recall the steps after 55 years tho.

Levi-tanai did much to legitimise eastern art and culture. She flew in the face of Israeli convention of the time.

If you have the patience, the classic rendition by the Parvarim is the 5th sample.
