This site has a few MP3s of Bulat Okujava, one of Russia's greatest bards (singer/songwriter), and most of them are on a 7 stringer. Musically, they are uncomplicated and more like sung poetry.
His Russian is very clearly enunciated, so fantastic practice for anyone studying the language, but even if you don't, the songs are still powerful.
The bards were unique because they wrote and sang their own songs, something practically unheard of in Soviet Russia, and addressed issues of the day in a wry, humurous way. Most of these aren't overtly, if at all, subversive, just not state-propoganda. I guess I meant to say by all that is that these are nice satires of daily-life. They couldn't get these officialy released during their lifetimes, but people circulated hundreds of bootlegs, many of almost studio quality.
