Obit: Rob Scrase November 2007

This weekend I heard the sad news that Rob Scrase passed away a short while ago after several years of battling health problems. I understand his funeral will be held tomorrow (10th December) in Gloucester Crematorium. I've always enjoyed singing his classic song 'Bugger Bognor' and last talked with him at Upton Festival a couple of years ago. Rest in Peace Rob.

Time midday, and I gather the Crematorium is at Conley Hill Road off Eastern Road. Merek will be there and I must give Robs son Matt a DVD of Dereks Stag Weekend. Rob was in his element and Pat his wife(Folkwrite)was in stitches.
This being a late thread Im shure Matt would love commens from The Folk World

Sad news indeed to hear of another member of the Cloud Folk Club. Regards to Rob's family and all the many friends he made.

I remember Rob and Pat very well. Knew them for years, in Devon and in Barnwood, Glos. I haven't sung in Gloucestershire for ages now, so lost touch with Rob. Sadly, the last time I spoke to him was to commiserate on his wife Pat's death. Now he is gone too, and the folk world loses another of it's stalwarts. I will always remember Rob and Pat for their hospitality and kindness to me whenever I was around their area. Rest In Peace old friend. Burl
