According to the best of my Net research, it's German (Prussian) and traditional as all get-out. It's got a really lovely tune, and the words are moving also. It's anti-war, sort of like "Where have all the flowers gone", except better. How can I submit it to the database? |

It is one of the very few German language songs I ever considered posting. However, it is not a German song in origin, for it comes from Latvia (or Lithuania). Pete Seeger is on record for having said or written that he had read a few lines in a Russian book that gave him the idea for his 'Where have all the flowers gone'.
