I'd be interested in hearing opinions from anyone who has played/owned one of these.

Didn't know what they were until I googled them. There is an interesting article about several different *silent* instruments on This Page. Maybe that will help. Somebody complaining about your playing, Jim??!!

No, not at all. I bought Brenda one of these for Christmas. Until now, all we've found were practice fiddles. This one however, amplifies well and can be used for regular gigs.
Sounds fine to us but it's hard to tell with my PA in a small room as opposed to a hall.
I had already found that page and Fujiyama's site is still under construction.
Can't seem to find any reviews on the Internet.
So I'm asking.
Comes with one of those very nice foam cases, by the way, which fits a regular fiddle.

I got an electric violin off Ebay just recently (Uyea Instruments, FWIW). £40 including instrument, bow, case, rosin, cable and headphones! Of course the bow, cable and phones are crap, so you'd need to budget for a proper bow. But the instrument itself works well, has a decent (if thin) acoustic sound, and amplifies beautifully. Can't go wrong for that price...

Graham.

Sounds like a great deal, Graham. Have you used it live, got any feedback?
