03 Jan 08 - 04:18 AM (#2227228) Subject: Lincoln Session this Sunday From: GUEST,Dáithí Hi folks - it's the first Sunday of the month (and year!) so that means get yourself down to the Lincoln session at The Dog and Bone,John St - Lincoln's friendliest pub - at 3pm on Sunday next (7/1/8) We had a great crowd last time..Irish trad, Blues, American old time, Enghlish folk, Scottish Ballads. Singers welcome, of course.. The music mix entirely depends on who turns up, so beginner or expert come along and do YOUR thing! No "leader", no structure..just like my old Granny's rambling house! Hope to see you there Dáithí |

07 Jan 08 - 04:10 AM (#2230153) Subject: RE: Lincoln Session this Sunday From: GUEST,Dáithí Happy New year was had by all at the first lincoln session of 2008 - another packed house! About 20 of us enjoyed the great hospitality of Alex and Emma and we had a great afternoon and a big thanks to all who turned up - a few fiddlers, whistlers, banjo and guitar, with the odd flute thrown in for good measure. Mostly Irish this time, with a bit of American Old time..excellent altogether. No excuse now for Lincoln-local people who've always wanted a session in the city...so we hope to see you all again - and new faces too - on the first Sunday in February, 3/2/8 All the best Dáithí |
