I'd be grateful if any of you know of an ensemble who I heard over Xmas directed by someone who I think is called Rolf Rieslevan -I have Googled the name but found nothing. I believe he plays lute and havent found anything on Amazon either. I'd try Radio3 if I could remember which program and day it was -but you know how it is at Xmas!

Well I've got the lutenist, but now I cant find the recording - this particular excerpt wasn't I believe a classical piece. my impression was that it was an "modern improvisation" by his ensemble ( a bit like Penguin Cafe). I note that he has a Xmas album out but no info available. Any further thoughts?

I only know his work in the ensemble Hesperion XX (XXI) - you could try contacting the BBC directly...

The ensemble might be the Ensemble Kapsberger with Rolf Lislevand. Folias (Corbetta) by this ensemble was broadcast as part of a Christmas music broadcast on Minnesota Public Radio.
