From a video at YouTube:

MOTHER OF MINE
As sung by Hayley Westenra

1. Mother of mine, you gave to me
All of my life to do as I please.
I owe everything I have to you,
Mother, sweet mother of mine.

2. Mother of mine, when I was young,
You showed me the right way things had to be done.
Without your love, where would I be,
Mother, sweet mother of mine?

CHORUS: Mother, you gave me happiness,
Much more than words can say.
I pray to the Lord that He may bless you,
Every night and every day.

3. Mother of mine, now I am grown
And I can walk straight all on my own,
I'd like to give you what you gave to me,
Mother, sweet mother of mine.

REPEAT CHORUS AND VERSE 3.

Mother, sweet mother of mine.

This song was previously recorded by "Little" Jimmy Osmond, youngest sibling of Donny, Marie, and 7 others. It was released as the B side of LONG HAIRED LOVER FROM LIVERPOOL, a #1 hit single in the UK in 1972, when Jimmy was 9 years old.

Westenra's recording comes from an album called "Hayley Sings Japanese Songs 2" (2009). I suspect that means some version of MOTHER OF MINE, maybe Osmond's, was previously a hit in Japan.

I couldn't identify the songwriter. It's difficult because there are several other songs with the same title.

Osmond's rendition is also available on YouTube, but Westenra's is much easier to listen to.

The song was a big number 2 hit for a young Scottish boy called Neil Reid at the end of 1971 beginning of 1972
