To whom it may concern, particuarly concertina net members.
the member calling himself Mick Diles on Concertina net is not Dick Miles.
I am flattered to have an impersonator, but if people study carefully Mick Diles writing style,it is obvious we are not one and the same.http://www.dickmiles.com

I was going through some old photos from the 1972 Cambridge Folk Festival and came across this one with an English concertina. Anyone know who it could be?
All being well the guy on the right is me. Yes it is me. Out of tune Lachenal in hand

May be mistaken, but I thought the name was Dick Miles...???
Met him once to look at a concertina, Nice fellow, Heard him play and sing at his neighbors house.

Hope I wasn't calling him by the wrong name...

Everywhere but here on c.net he's Dick. Here he once was Dick but became Mick (after being someone else in between the two). Long story...

Dick,
Still got your stalker I see.
Probably one of the two who appear to get off on such behaviour.
Hang in there; they'll eventually go back to sniffing bicycle saddles.

Just for the record

It was me that posted the photo on concertina.net FORUM page under GENERAL DISCUSSIONS, titled "Who is this Gut?" as a genuine enquiry.

I told Dick about it when I got the suggestion that the person might be him. Dick said it wasn't at first. At the moment he's not sure. It was after all a long time ago. 1972 Cambridge festival any one of you lot there at that time?

There is also a lady (girl then) in the photo playing a fiddle. Go and have a look maybe someone will reconise her

Happy hunting

Might be Tony Engle and Peta Webb when they were in Oak.
Though they both look very different now.

Well as the y and t are next to each other on the keyboard it's hardly a difficult mistake to make, is it?

Why be a tosser and complain? Obviously you never make typos...

The girl looks like Mary Fooks,Friend of the late Dave Roberts, she was a singer with one of the off shoots of Dead Sea Surfers, she also played the fiddle.
I have never knowingly been to Cambridge Folk Festival,so it cannot be me.Dick Miles

Isn't the one on the right Chas Clark that the write-up is about? You can ask him yourself, as I assume that this Chas Clark is his website.

The ones on the left don't look like Tony or Peta as I remember them from that time.

I was just looking at the pix in the Mustrad Oak piece. Rod is the only one who looks no different.

Yes Mick the one on the right is ME!

It's the picture with the two on the left that is the mystery

Sorry - misunderstood the context of me in Dick's second post above! (I thought it was part of the quote from someone pretending to be him).

This is one of the more surreal threads I've seen on Mudcat. Why is someone trying to pass themselves off as Dick Miles? Isn't that at worst probably illegal and at the very least a potentially huge problem for Dick? How awful.

Cheers

From reading the posts of Mick Diles on concertina net,I get the impression he is a G D Anglo player.
What is the point of my standing up,you cant see me,the only thing I stand for is the Irish National anthem.
