18 Jan 08 - 09:14 AM (#2239181) Subject: while visiting Whitby From: GUEST,Dee Hiya, I'm a frequent visitor to Whitby, up until quite recently I used to see a very unusual charcater in a number of the pubs my friends and I went in, he sang songs without an instrument and they were quite often very funny, he'd also be dancing whilst he sang and he always had shorts on even in the winter. I've not seen him on my recent visits and so wondered if anyone knows what's happened to him. |

18 Jan 08 - 04:19 PM (#2239494) Subject: RE: while visiting Whitby From: Les from Hull Well I haven't seen him for about, I think he's busier with work than he used to be. We're not being unkind calling him Muppitt, that's the only name he answers to. He won't even tell anybody his real name! I'll sent him a message but I can't guarantee he'll receive it. |
|
18 Jan 08 - 04:27 PM (#2239499) Subject: RE: while visiting Whitby From: Les from Hull Actually he spells it Muppett, I think it's our Northern accent. I've sent the message to this 'very unusual character', as you accurately describe him. I've been very happy to count him as a friend, even though he refers to me as 'Mr Fromull'. |

18 Jan 08 - 05:52 PM (#2239575) Subject: RE: while visiting Whitby From: Lowden Jameswright ... I think he's gone to ground; probably so ashamed of our national cricket team - he'll be back as soon as they start to show some form again. Last time I saw him he was making sand castles and dykes/bridges etc on Scarborough beach - October time |

19 Jan 08 - 08:35 AM (#2239936) Subject: RE: while visiting Whitby From: Raggytash Dah Dah .......... I must be one of very few who actually know Muppetts given name, but I've sworn on pain of death never to reveal it ......... although if someone offered enough money.......... There was a bit of trouble at mill some time ago and Muppett doesn't get across here any more, but if he reads this and wants a bed for the night he only has to ask |

19 Jan 08 - 09:58 AM (#2239971) Subject: RE: while visiting Whitby From: Les from Hull OK Muppett is in the white shirt, standing next to Hartlepool Harry at the bar. Chris Mullins is seated with his finger on his gob. Almost hidden behind Chris (something that is relatively easy to do) is Maggie, my girlfriend. Sat next to me on t'other side is Mary McGarry (Mrs Ossonflags). Them's all I know. |

19 Jan 08 - 10:21 AM (#2239985) Subject: RE: while visiting Whitby From: gnomad If you click right once on Lynne's album there's another Muppet shot, looking just how I think of him - sort of wild and shaky. Another click to the right gets you Mally and Old Git. Enough tales out of school, it looks like Lynne had a great time. I thought I hadn't seen Muppet for a while, hope some warmer weather will winkle him out again during the summer. I'll bid 1p towards a reminder of his real name, only that much 'cos I will probably just forget it again, also I don't want to endanger Raggy too much. |

20 Jan 08 - 07:14 AM (#2240483) Subject: RE: while visiting Whitby From: Les from Hull Have you not heard him does his thing about when Steve Harmison destroyed the West Indies at Sabina Park in 2004, taking 7 for 12 and skittling them out for 47? I think that'll let you know where his sympathies lay. So I reckon it's West Indies, then Yorkshire, then England. |

The bow'ld Muppett has been known to sing a very sensitve song or three if you can get him away from the stuff about farting, throwing up and 'twerms and that. Also he has a great fondness for marmite sarnies. |
