It's worth going out of your way for this, if only for the pub! Linda and Stuart Johnson are two ex-potholers who brew a lot of prize-winning beer and took over the Prince Of Wales at Foxfield, Cumbria (near Broughton-in-furness). They attract musicians and beer lovers from everywhere with a superb welcome, and Linda makes excellent food as well. I used to work with Linda teaching outdoor pursuits courses in the Duddon Valley, and it's been far too long since I've visited them.
Cheers
Ray

Their website, which you provided a link to, has an 'events' page but it doesn't seem to mention it - might wanna give them a ring and ask if it can be added to the list?

I'm sure the boys will be on their best behavior!

The nearest camping is in Broughton Mills some miles away, although, in hindsight, the Blacksmiths in Broughton Mills is amenable to a session so it might have been a better choice so far as camping is concerned but hey ho it's done now so the Prince of Wales it is, a mighty fine pub

What a shame Paulo but you have enough on your plate, also read your threads on the funding thingy about opera, I agree that opera gets a disproportionate funding, supposedly to make it available to a wider audience but the people who can't afford to go to the opera wouldn't want to go and so it subsidising the nobs, like the outdoor relief the national trust provided twixt the wars for all the baron hardups and a handful of them are still living in their piles and opening them to the public a few days a year in return for the NT picking up the bills! oooo what else shall we have a go at (actually I think opera is ok in small doses)

Pete,

Well you're welcome to my dose of opera as well....however small....£9,000,000!!!!!!!! that's even more than than Seth Lakeman's (mis?)quoted fee!!!!!

See you in February.
