Caroline and I were having dinner at his place one evening, many years ago, and Caroline (an Adelle Davis nut at that time) started dishing out a handful of assorted vitamins for me. John's eyes widened in horror. "Oh, no!" he groaned. Then he discovered they were only vitamins, not some of the other pill varieties people were fond of gulping down in Southern California, and heaved a great sigh of relief. Sandy |
