He seems suprised that she never received royalities from the song. But that's the way it works. Eric Clapton and Ray Davies make the big bucks - Layla and Lola get squat. Stan Getz along w/a myriad of other 'brassbands' covered alot of Jobim's stuff as his songs lenfd themselves very nicely to 'big band' instrumentation. |
