Need your feedback on Howard

I just found out that my old friend from 1979(Poor) Howard Stith has finished a new cd. Unfortunately, I'm not able to listen to offered samples because my old computer has no sound equipment.
Therefore, I would like to ask interested and helpful mudcatters to listen to these samples and tell me about their impressions.
Please believe me: this is no commercial "trick": I'm living in Germany and he lives in NH. In any case I will contact him later.

Many thanks to all!!!

Manfred

Hi Manfred,

I followed your link - and I liked what I heard. The samples are short (about 30 sec.), the arrangement is simple but effective (vocals, guitar, harmonica, kazoo).

If you have his first cd you have a good impression of the new one, both are equally good.

Where exactly are you located?

Best
Ernest

Hello Ernest,

thanks for your judgement. Indeed, I do own his first cd so that now I'm able to classify his latest (and second) cd.

I'm located in Lower Bavaria (Kopfham near Ergolding near Landshut). Originally I come from Hamburg. That's the place where I met Howard in 1969 ( and not 1979; made a mistake) in a folk-place called Danny's Pan.

Thanks again for your nice reply, Ernest,

Manfred

Thanks for sharing your friend's music, Manfred. I wasn't expecting a voice pitched so high, not sure why I thought it would be lower.:-) Regardless, I found it quite easy to listen to and enjoyed what I was able to catch of the arrangements. The samples were very short, but that's understandable. Best of luck to him...looks as though he's got some great stuff on the other one, too.

(My brother was in Coburg and Passau for about three years back in the 60's. I have all of his beautiful slides of his various trips around the region. He had a lot of fun and really enjoyed it.)

Hi Kat,

it's a real pleasure hearing from you most of all because of your warm sympathy as to gone tom-cat Buttje (remember?). It's great that you're well off again!
Yes, indeed, Howard wrote to me some time ago, that he had to change the chords of some tracks because of a change in his voice. Even before that he has had a relatively high voice.
Best wishes to you and the lovely place called Colorado!

Manfred

Does Manfred know Ernest's location? Definitely in Germany, I think in Berlin.

Yes, PoppaGator, it's Berlin.

On the other hand: I'm a little bit disappointed about the feedback on my shy request (asked myself beforehand: should I do this?). And obviously I should not do this. Or does it play a role that I'm german?

Are the sample tracks offered so uninteresting/ of bad quality? If so, please tell me. I'm not the performer. I did not ask for compliments but for honest first impressions about good, old Howards record.

But I think it's O.K. friends,

Manfred
