seeking pix 50's folk music parties

Hi folks,
I'm looking for photos of folk music parties from the 1950s or early 1960s -- photos that highlight the "party" aspect in addition to the "folk music" aspect would be ideal! This is for an upcoming documentary film about the New Lost City Ramblers -- I know, I've already posted requests several times but they were so successful, I decided to post again!!!

Also looking for photos of international folk dancing from the late 40s or early 50s -- not folk dance troupes with costumes, but recreational dancing by people in their regular clothes.

Nothing will be used without proper permission and credit.

If you have any of these things, or can suggest where to find them, please either post here or send me a message.

Many thanks to those who have responded to my earlier requests -- Mudcat is a wonderful resource!

Suzy,

Have you looked at the 1947 film TO HEAR YOUR BANJO PLAY. There are some great shots of Margo Mayo's group dancing to Pete Seeger's banjo(with an unknown fiddler and guitar player).

I assume you have contacted Art Thieme, Suz? He has quite an archive of photo's.

This is probably NOT very helpful, but I'll bet that the FBI has a larger collection than any of us! Bob(deckman)Nelson

Hi folks,
I've already got "To Hear Your Banjo Play" -- and some of that folk dance footage is in the new Pete Seeger film (I forget the name, but it's a wonderful film!) which you probably have already seen. And, I was able to find the folk dance stuff I was looking for.

But -- still searching for party pix from the 1950s (or early 60s) that give the feeling of a folk music party, with the emphasis on PARTY!

I kinda feel like the FBI might not be very forthcoming with assistance- or perhaps all too forthcoming ;-)

You might try through the freedom of information act!

"You might try through the freedom of information act!"

Is that an option in the U.S.A.?
