BS: Praying for Peace

My grandfather died this morning...having been returned home on Saturday after 2 amputations, a bypass in his leg, congestive heart failure, swallowing muscle problems and a host of other problems. It was his choice to come home and I am so glad that we all were able to honor his wishes.

Together one last time
Gathered in shifts
Holding hands
Holding tears

Anxious glances
Looking for glimmers
In his eyes
Glassy but not gone

Raspy whispers
And smiles
A gentle squeeze
Labored breath

Cries for mercy
Helpless frustration

We wait
And pray
For quiet peace
For release of pain

Still he floats between
The night is long
And void of sleep

One deep breath

Silence

Peace

Release

Remember that he is now at peace. Keep that thought in mind and it will help.

ANd may that peace contact all who mourn him, that their tears may disappear without a trace.

So beautifully and simply put, Michelle; it rings so true for 'most everyone past a certain age.

Michelle, many or even most of us have been where you are. Neither easy nor nice, is it.
Part of being human though.

Sympathy.   Chris.

May we all be at home and go in peace when it comes our time. May any pain or strife be eased quickly.

In sympathy,

kat

He will already be surrounded by so many who have loved him before Michelle, so although it's hard, don't you worry about him, because he's being well looked after and he'll never be alone.

And I bet he's so proud of your beautiful words above.

Remember not what I became
For I have passed like summer rain
Remember me like a sunlight day
the child I love in every way.

Peace and comfort be with you all

May the Great Mother and the All Father comfort you and bring you peace.

Think of him in the Summerlands, safe in the arms of the Great Mother, and knowing the loving smile of the All Father.

So mote it be.
