UK gigs

Fri 22nd February, guest at "Friday Folk" Orpington

Tuesday 26th February, Now established as a permanent event, at The Bull, Malling Rd/High St junction in Snodland. The first one impressed the landlady so much that I didn't have to ask. She asked me to continue. Fourth Tuesdays acoustic music/singaround in the bar.
Do come and join us, the company's good, and the beer is palatable and inexpensive.

Monday 31st March, at Open House Acoustic, The Pilot, Stone Street, Maidstone, Kent. Guest, as seen at Sidmouth 2007, DAVE TAYLOR, Screamingly funny and massively talented, you don't want to miss this man. Backing act Don "Wysiwyg" Thompson.

BG are en route for Hertfordshire, so I will be remaining in Upper Dogsbottom and not swelling your ranks...

AN EVENING WITH THE D.T.s

Tuesday 25th March:- The third of the BULL SESSIONS at The Bull public house, Junction of High St and Malling Road, Snodland.

Attendance at the last one was about 18 people including some hitherto undiscovered talent. A good time was had by all including the landlord and landlady. With the cheapest pint in the area, and steadily rising attendances, this is the place to be on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Come and join us.

I must have upset someone, as my thread can't keep its head above water for 24 hours.

However, it wasn't the Friday Folk audience I upset.

When I did my booked gig at FF last month the audience and I enjoyed each other enormously. I have no hesitation in recommending Friday Folk as the friendliest folk club for the next Alternative Folk Awards.

I had a severe chest infection for the whole week preceding my gig, and I had two hours of rehearsal on the day.

I have never been so unprepared for a booking, but I needn't have worried. They were with me every inch of the way. So much so that I went into overdrive, and probably did the best performance of my life.

No, I didn't mention the chest infection till the end of the evening. They are just that sort of community.

God Bless 'em
Don T.

Don, re 31 March - This is the under the baseball cap Dave Taylor, who has been brightening my Sidmouth for the last several years? And has his own wonderful take on Vincent Black Lightning?

Highly recommended!

Hope you all have a great time.

Kitty

Don't forget the Bull Session is on Tuesday.

Nice folks, and reasonable beer.

Even after Darling Alastair's budgie, it only costs £2.10p a pint.

There is a slightly more expensive real ale to be had as a rule.

Sad state of affairs Don (I beleive we all "KNOW" your "better half" much better)

<

If a thread dies in in 24 hours .... let it REST.

This is the will of the MUDCAT

Sincerely,
Gargoyle

On the Eve of Ressurection Sunday...renew again...but read the scripture.

I'm mystified, Gargs.

Who is the better half to whom you refer?

Who is the we all, for whom you profess to speak?

Most importantly, who died and made you boss of Mudcat to tell others whether or no they should refresh threads?

If you don't like the thread, you have the right to ignore it mate....Feel free to do so.

Far too far for me to come, but all the best to you and Dave ("the melodeons are coming" being the one I remember best, having once threatened him with said instrument!)
Hope to see you both in Sidmouth this year?
There is another WYSIWYG on this site, Don, so maybe the source of the confusion? (Possibly female and on the other side of the "pond"?)

Thanks for the publicity! Looking forward to the gig!

Have you by any chance got Clive's phone/mobile numbers?

Hi Dave, Good to hear from you. I'm looking forward to next Monday immensely.

I have Clive's contact details, but I'm not sure how to get tham to you. We avoid putting things like that on the web.

Perhaps if I get him to contact you, assuming you are reachable where you are?

If not, how about joining the membership here, then we can exchange personal messages. Guests can't do that.

Don T.
