in need of song titles

folks out there that like folk and blues, etc....

i heard a couple of songs while drunk off my ass at a party and i wanted to know the titles for further research

being drunk, i only retained a few fragmented lines

"i was here, and you were here, and we didn't have no time to drink that beer"

"he rides the sky like an eagle in the eye of a hurricane that's abandoned"

if you can help me identify either/both of these songs, please send me an email

Hi Zeke

The second one is a rock song from 10-20 years ago. It might be called The Sandman:

I understand he's been running from the man who goes by the name The Sandman, he rides the sky like an eagle in the eye of a hurricane that's abandoned

I can't think who the band was. Could have been The Eagles??

Hi Zeke!

It's on a great album by America, "History/America's Greatest Hits". If you like Sandman you should buy that album as the songs are stunning. It's one of the group's from the '70's. There are a lot of songs on it you'll like, I'm certain. Blessings, Reta

Here it is http;//pages.map.com/~freek/america.html

Be sure to listen to "Don't Cross The River", "A Horse With No Name", "Ventura Highway" and the others.

Talk about deja Vu! Damn that song (The Sandman) takes me back! It was America and a marvelous one of theirs! I think the first time I heard that was on a tape one of my shipmates had while I was riding the USS Nimitz. THanks for a quick blast from the past, Reguards, Neil
