As I was rushing out this morning I heard that Bob would be interviewed by our local radio. Fortunately they podcast, so here 'tis

Bob is in Australia for the festival season, and was in Sydney last week.

The other half of the program is an interview with Israeli Ladino singer, Yasmin Levy.

Was a nice surprise to catch this interview - with songs - on the air this morning!

We also had the pleasure of Bob's performance in Maleny, SE Qld, on the Saturday night just gone ..... though the venue staff seemed intent on doing their best to obscure the music, with their coffee-crockery-cutlery noise ....
:~(

However, Bob's appreciative audience still enjoyed him immensely and we look forward to another tour.

He has SUCH a beautiful voice!!
..... sigh .....

Cheers!

This is something of a blast from Bob Fox's past but since I am in interview alerting mode at Mudcat today, let me say that if you'd like to read about the great man in a slightly different context - childhood & football as well as music - you may find something of interest in this interview from my footie blog

I expected Yasmin Levy to do a John Nott and sling her mic at the interviewer and walk off. It was a classic example of someone who couldn't be arsed to do the very minimum of research about their subject, typified by playing in with one of Ms Levy's self-written songs in Spanish and announcing it as traditional Ladino.

It's into Bob Fox now and I've just heard him being asked if coal mining was a dying industry in the North East. Time to switch off.

Ye-e-es, it wasn't Richard Fidler's last gaff of the interview, either ..... Still, I think I'm just grateful for some folkie content back on Australian radio!
