Unfortunately, it clashes with the Lincolnshire Folk-Meet at Alford, Daithi, where I have a spot booked. So, alas, I'll miss the session once again! :-(

If you're a singer Ruth, why not come to the Lincolnshire Folk Meet at the Half Moon, Alford?

(Sorry Daithi!) :-)

okay...but can you tell me if it's a singaround, or a session, or if it's a series of booked guests? The website doesn't say.

Trying to make a quick decision about my entertainment choice this afternoon, as I have to make a trip up to Horncastle anyway...

Ruth, it's spots not a singaround, but you book your spot on arrival (see Sue Dewsbury). There will be a number of 'Catters there (including me, Mr. Sooz, Sooz). Be good to meet you.

I should damned well think so, cheeky sod! ;¬)

As it happens, we had plenty of singing, plus Irish trad and folk, English Morris and shanty, American old Time and Bluegrass - so everybody had a great time.

Glad to see that this session is now - at long last established - we regularly have about 8 or twelve musicians and a similar number of audience with - but disappointed that more Lincoln/shire folkies don't attend. We have a small group of locals plus some folks from Nottingham - but I can remember people at various events around the county moaning that there were few if any proper sessions to go to...so where are these folks? AArrgh!!
Can't be the format - we're as easy going as possible - a genuine session, with no leaders or organisation...music just happens around the tables as the spirit (or beer!) moves you.
All styles of acoustic music - AND singers MOST welcome.
Next one April 6th. Be there or be....
                                     ...somewhere else!
bnest wishes to all
