AOL - Where to send complaints

From: Joe Offer

A friend of mine is on AOL, and she's having trouble communicating with them. When her service wasn't working, she tried setting it up again, and she ended up with a second AOL account. She succeeded in getting the second account cancelled, but she was billed $25 for the few days she had the second account.
Anybody know an address where she can send a letter of complaint that might have a chance of being read and answered?

I've been having similar problems with my mortgage and insurance companies this week, and I've spent hours and hours dealing with multi-level voicemail. I'm making progress, but I think I'll end up paying for my homeowners' insurance three times this year and having to wait for refunds.
But about AOL - can anybody help?

The news ain't good, Joe.

There are blue links at the bottom of that page. Might be faster asking those folks where/how to contact AOL.

These instructions are from the Gethuman.com website:

Get Human - Contact a real person

America Online   1-800-827-6364

Press 0 at each prompt, ignoring messages.

Good luck!

Not much help with getting your money matters straight; but a recent column may be of interest:

Break Your Mail Out of AOL

ARTICLE DATE: 02.26.08
By Bill Dyszel

"Chewing off your own leg to escape from AOL was never actually required, but for many years the process seemed nearly as painful. ..."

The article does suggest a way to easily migrate all your email and addy book info to someplace else, which is the most common poor excuse for staying with AOL.

When we moved from MSN to AT&T/Yahoo they provided all the necessary tools to do the move.
