I have found a supplier, but they want US$92+ freight. If anyone has found them cheaper than that, could you point me to the right place? |

Not sure if searching for those specs would find anything that would actually fit ... but the first 3.6v/ 700mAh Li battery. here are a few. |

12 Mar 08 - 06:48 PM (#2286848) Subject: RE: BS: Aiwa Mini-disk battery From: Gurney Jon, none of the ones there are correct. The specified one is like a pack of chewing-gum but with a step in it so that idiots can't put it in the wrong way,and one lump contact at each end, and mine is Aiwa original, so they may all be. You have the # and capacity right. I believe there is an external arrangement for it, too. Mucho bother. Looks as if I will have to become an EBay buyer, but that is a bother too, as they have no presence in NZ, -We have an equivalent called TradeMe- and people are wary of trusting foreign first-timers. Aiwa is now owned by Sony, so they will likely be phased out, Sony having their own MDs. |

13 Mar 08 - 04:02 PM (#2287653) Subject: RE: BS: Aiwa Mini-disk battery From: Gurney I spent the evening on EBay, Oz, UK, and US, and nothing. Or nothing yet, anyway. Found another source in Holland, but much the same price. It is possible that the battery is not finished, but was stored in a discharged condition, which means it will no longer accept a charge. Lithium-ion, you see. They can apparently be revived, but no-one will tell me how, because often they explode in the process! However, my son is doing a degree in electronics. Hhhhmm. |
