BS: Who? Lets Blame Bush!

As Bobert continues to blame Bush for the weather, dice results, and the way the cards fall, here is some information I don't think he wants you to know:

"The Federal Reserve's unprecedented bailout of Bear Stearns was crafted not at the White House or the Treasury but in secret by a New York central banker whose name is unknown to Washington power brokers and who was a Clinton administration presidential appointee. "

from the Washington Post:http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/03/19/AR2008031902780.html

So, the Bushs are innocent of this one? Ok, but how about:
The Keating 5 scandal?
the Savings & Loan scam?

STARTING A WAR, an endless war costing trillions of dollars that we have to borrow from China to support.
Speaking of China, they are building a bluewater fleet and an army that can threaten anyone!
WHO went to Iraq and gave lip service to the troops while cutting hell out of veteran's benefits?

Lets all go back to the good ol days and blame, indict and investigate Bill Clinton for everything. It was so much more civil.

Besides, Bush's economic policies aren't nearly as valuble joke material for Jay Leno's monologues as Clinton's morals are....Leno has been milking that for years!

Bush is not to blame for everythign that human stupidity accomplishes in its endless quest to find a worse way of doing things. But he is responsible for making that curmudgeonly, chowder-headed stink into a national brand.

As I understand it, Bush is going to borrow another huge wad of cash to dole out to the masses for stimulation of the economy? What kind of lunacy is this? It is already too late to do any good, and it's not happening until May.He's going to leave a legacy alright, dumber than W G. Harding.

Woody Allen is also to blame for a number of things. But not for the ecomomic malaise in America.

Clinton's morals?

I thought all the best presidents did have extramarital affairs.

All the worst and most ineffective presidents were 100% faithful.

I don't think its a right of passage as much as it is a symptom of personal power and free expression.

LH there is no economic malaise. There is much passion among the super rich to brainwash the masses to the "virtues" of deregulation, deficit spending and trickle down economics.

Hmm.

Is it really true that "All the worst and most ineffective presidents were 100% faithful." ???

If so, it raises some troubling questions. ;-) Like, should our leaders be encouraged to run around constantly having sexual affairs in order to make government more effective? Should cigars be issued to all government offices, just in case? Is fidelity a sign of gross incompetence? Was Harry Lee Wigley wrong when he proposed to replace the wheel with the centrifugal tiddlywink?

"Is it really true that "All the worst and most ineffective presidents were 100% faithful." ???"

well, almost...but the connection is a bit tenuous. It IS true that the tendency toward stupid and ineffectual leadership is often found with narrow, moralistic views of sexuality, while 'free thinking' is often associated with creative social & economic policy. No precise cause & effect, but much statistical evidence to sort out.

If yer gonna play around...and let's face it, the majority do, given the chance...you at least oughta keep it discreet, like Kennedy did. It's just plain stupid not to. I figger that a certain amount of playin' around is natural and it goes with having a good personality and a high payin' job. That's my theory. Now if ya can combine that with the good judgement about keepin' it to the right time and place, you can go far. Some people got no good judgement about that at all. I call them types "loose monkeys". They are as undependable as a couple of loose nuts on a machine. You never know when the parts are gonna fall off and cause a train wreck.

Bill Clinton is one hell of a loose monkey.

How do we know - in reality - who in the history of the US presidency was ultra-faithful versus philanderous? Until FDR I don't think their dalliances and peccadillos were publicized. The media seems to have felt that it wasn't really their business.

It would be interesting to know the habits of other heads of state in the world.

Well I once was asked the question, who would you prefer for a national leader:

a) a guy who is a vegetarian and a teetotaller

b) a guy who drinks a couple of whiskeys for lunch and several in the evening to keep out the cold not to mention a bottle of wine with his steak.

The latter was also guilty of some other technically inappropriate practice that eludes me.

Well the rub is of course that if you chose the former you got Hitler and if you chose the latter you got Churchill ...

When Alfted Kinsey came out with his reports in 1948 and 1953, he received an immense amount of criticism, not so much for his findings, but for the fact that he published them.

It seems that people were actually "doing it!"

Oh, horrors! We don't want to hear that! It was "kill the messenger" time!

Well, I am just appalled to hear that people were "doing it" back then (around 1948). Ugh. Gross me out. That means people like our parents might have been (gag) doing it! No! It's just too, like, totally "Eeewwww!" to think about. I am, like, sooo disgusted. Please, like, change the frikkin' subject.

People were, like, so right to get upset with that guy Alfred Kinsey. Yuck. Just don't go there, okay?

I've never forgiven Bill Clinton for the Monica thing. Come on, the guy was president of the friggin' United States! He should have done better. Hell, Jack Kennedy was porkin' Marilyn Monroe, for Christ's sake! So the best Bill could do was an intern, and a not so good looking one at that? He could just as easily have gone for Michelle Pfeiffer! She's a hell of a lot better looking and would probably have kept her mouth shut.

It was definitely poor judgement on Bill's part. But maybe he just finds it hard to say "no" to a lady. Most men do.

You're dead right about Michelle Pfeiffer though.

Ebbie, not all of the past president's affairs were kept hidden.
There was a rumor that Aaron Burr was screwing his own daughter, and that was the real reason he killed A. Hamilton.

There is no question that Grover Cleveland was the father of a love child. The republicans got a lot of milage out of that but it did them no good, he won anyway. His opponent was a republican named James G. Blaine.
The ditties went.."Hey ma, where's my pa"?(Blaine supporters)

"Gone to the White House, ha ha ha." (Cleveland supporters.)
And,"James G. Blaine, James G. Blaine, the continetal liar from the state of Maine"."

Then, there was Warren G. Harding who was caught "in the act" in a White House closet with a maid.

FDR accused Wendell Willkie of having a mistress when all along it was HE who had the spare!

Jimmy Carter was probably one of the most moral presidents ever, and look where it got him.

There was a rumor on the internet that George was banging Condi Rice, but I think that was just more of the kind of crap that infects the internet these days.

The level of this fat-cat bailout makes the savings & loan bailout look like chump change...

Why isn't there more rage??? I'm serious here!!! We have a cooked little tax-cheat weizel for a president who has raided our nationmal treasury and given it to his corrupt corporatist buddies and here we are in the worst shape we've been in finacially since the late 70's and Bush allows his crook buddies one last money grab in his lame duck lap around the track...

If this were to happen in a 3rd World country we'd all be saying, "Yeah, that's the way "those" people are"...

This is a seriously fu*ked up thing that has happened and everyone just makes jokes... It ain't no joke!!!

End of rant...

Well Don, kneecapping the brat would be fine except that he'd charge it to the rest of US & that would be the beginning of the end for Medicaid & Medicare. It seems he can't make a move, even when trying to move in the right direction without some wealthy fuckers thanking him for opening up the cookie jar as soon as the public's left the room. I often consider him to be very stupid but seldom do I think him as sly, cos' he gets himself & the rest of US into a jam like this & when he's caught with his pants down, his thumb up his ass & he makes like some one else has been in the room with all lights out & with their hand in the cookie jar & he has no idea of how we got fucked & how his friends made out like bandits, I wonder how he can face the nation the next morning, like the cat that ate the canary, feathers hanging out of his mouth & not a thought about when the world catches up with him. Kneecapping is far too easy & too nice for him, when he's shot in the heel (hopefully very soon), maybe the public can drag his body from Florida to Alaska behind his hydrogen chariot before he takes his last breath & then send the bill to his father.
