24 Mar 08 - 08:24 AM (#2296425) Subject: RE: BS: Holiday away this year? Where? From: jacqui.c As Kendall says "Why go somewhere when you're already there?" We are hoping to get to N.Carolina to visit friends in late April and I'm going to the UK in August to catch up with the family and spoil my grandchildren (and maybe to get to some sessions as well). Otherwise - we have everything here to make life good. |

24 Mar 08 - 08:53 AM (#2296447) Subject: RE: BS: Holiday away this year? Where? From: Bat Goddess What Jacqui (and Kendall) sasy. It's not much out of my way to be at the New Hampshire beaches. I'm within sight (sort of) of the White Mountains. Historical sites all around me or a reasonably short drive. Alas, can't go too far afield this year (other than a spring music gathering a couple states to the south) because of lack of funds and uncertainties of a new job (which I don't have yet). So my travelling will be done in books -- this morning I rounded the Horn with Howard Blackburn of Gloucester on his way to the Klondike for the gold rush. Just returned from "The Secret Heart of Asia" -- all the "stans" of Turkic (except for Tajikstan) people above Afghanistan and Pakistan. Didn't cost much, either. Linn |

From: Liz the Squeak The choir has no tours planned for this year so our holiday was a weekend in Dorset, surrounded by family, sheep, bird flu and wind. I had a fantastic time, but I don't think Manitas was so enamoured of the amount of fresh air that whistled round the chapel. LTS |

From: ClaireBear The planned destination of my annual educational camping trip with son Martin was Colorado, but with gas prices this high we might stay in California instead. Only trouble is, the campgrounds are always terrifically crowded here. Maybe Sequoia National Park, which last time I visited was not a major tourist destination, or perhaps somewhere down Highway 1. (Suggestions welcomed...) And then in October, the Getaway of course. Claire |
