26 Mar 08 - 11:29 AM (#2298000) Subject: BS: Creative Use of MudChat From: wysiwyg I guess this is a thank you note, a plug, and 2 questions. Recently I had a thorny pet-related issue to resolve, so I decided which MudBud could best offer relevant advice, PMed her, and asked my question (instead of putting it in a thread that would have offered a lot of non-relevant helpfulness). She invited me to Chat; we made an appointment, kept the appointment, had a GREAT discussion, and the case is now solved to the satisfation and peace of all concerned. 1. Thanks, MudBud (you know who you are!); 2. What a GREAT alternative to clogging up the threads that avoids drawing the time/interest/worries of people un-necessarily!!! 3a. Anyone else doing simularly? (sic) 3b. If one opens a private chat room here, how does your invited co-Chatter join you there-- or if you want to arrive as invited, how do you do that? ~Susan |

26 Mar 08 - 02:54 PM (#2298145) Subject: RE: BS: Creative Use of MudChat From: wysiwyg Yes, and here's how: When you get to the ENTER CHAT page you type your agreed private room name into the NEW ROOM text box, and click the button for Private that is nearby. One person is creating it and one is joining it-- using the one-and- only box open to try it. When I had an invite in the past, I didn't realize that text box is not only used in creating the room but also to get in if it has already probably been opened by your chat-bud. Also I was delighted to find in my prior pet chat that I could copy all the text, and dump it into email for further clarification. Thansk, Bill! ~Susan |
