28 Mar 08 - 05:05 AM (#2299402) Subject: RE: Programme on folk music collectors From: r.padgett I caught this programme last night I personally found it interesting although perhaps intense The Housecarpenter was featured and its origins and was a song i learnt many years ago ~ I was struck by the variations of tunes used and guitar styles etc Curt Cobain also was included there[I think] and the guitar "rifts" which were clearly copied, but then dunt we all! Eliza Carthy singing Ten Thousand miles from Nick Jones too ** Aside: CBS recording of the same song bears a uncanny resemblance to NJ too Ray |
