BS: Canada Water why?

Can anyone tell me why the docks at Canada Water, London, are called Canada Water ? Is it solely because Canadian Timber was always unloaded there ?

Which London? If it's London, Ontario it's probably because it's in Canada.

London London, Rapaire. From Wiki: "The lake is named after the former Canada Dock which was located on this site, and which was mainly used by ships from Canada. "

Thank you artbrooks. That is what I suspected. I was not aware that London Ont. had an area called Canada water, in spite of it's being in Canada.Which London indeed !

It's funny ...

... I live down that way myself ...

... gritty grimy part of London it is too in the south east ...

... and Canada Water sounds like Quebecs answer to Perrier ...

... fresh from the canadian tundra ...

... official fizzy water of Millwall football club ...

My imagination needs things to do when I'm on the Jubilee line ...

George Orwell should have called his novel "Down and out in Arkansas"

It would have saved ink.

or Ohio ...

... wow ...

Ohio's got em all

No wonder Americans don't see the need to leave ...

Ya see, ya gotta specify....

By the way, if you've ever been to Paris, Missouri or London, Arkansas you'd see plenty of reasons to leave! (I've actually been to both Paris and New London, Missouri.)

I crossed the border into Ontario one time and the first thing I saw was a big sign that read "Drink Canada Dry." Well, I tried....
