When I heard Paddy Reilly's recording of it, I found that he had a beautiful voice, but the recording sounded like it was accompanied by 101 strings. I've heard other versions where the production was okay, but the singer was not as good. Is there a version of "Raglan Road" with an excellent singer and an arrangement which is quiet and restrained and the singing voice is dominant? And speaking of Paddy Reilly, I know he must have made many CD's. Can you recommend one without all the orchestral arrangement I mentioned before? (I already have his live album.) Thanks in advance. |
