The High Kings

Hi all, just wondering if any of you had ever heard/seen these guys? Finbar Furey's son Martin is the fellow with the beard and Bobby Clancy's son Finbar (confusing eh?)is the one standing on the right, plus two other lads, both equally as good. I think they're very good, harmonies are wonderful. Commercial?? Well perhaps. I'm sure they'll do very well in the States.

Anyway, just wondered what your thoughts were? I really hope this link works, this is the first time I've tried a 'blue clicky'! If it doesn't, check out The High Kings on You Tube or they have their own website.

That's pretty good singing. Fully as good as their parents!

I just heard them the other day on a PBS special. Yeah, a bit commercial but IMO not too much. And whooo, the harmonies! Excellent.

Well I quite enjoyed listening to them, thanks! The interview video on their website was interesting. Love their harmonies!

That's good, I'm glad you enjoyed them. Their DVD came out last Monday, I think I might just get it.

They're not as bad as the usual PBS March fare, e.g. Celtic Woman or Celtic Thunder (has anyone seen that abomination?)

Quite commercial, but good musicianship... especially from The Goddess, Nollaig Casey on fiddle.

Cheers,
Michael

PBS in Seattle runs these things all the time...it drives me nuts, and makes me want to not contribute during the pledge drives..
