A Labour stalwart, staunch defender of British Socialism and one of Marxisms strongest critics.
Though I disagree with a lot of her ideas, she was a socialist of the type I have a profound of respect for.
Parliament and indeed the country, is the poorer for her passing.

(12 December 1930 – 17 April 2008)[1] was the longest ever serving female Member of the Parliament of the United Kingdom both by length of total and length of continuous service. Not a left winger by the traditional standards of the Labour movement, she had a reputation as a fiercely independent parliamentarian (wiki)

A person much to be admired and one who set standards to be followed.

A good old trooper. Popular images of Cheshire nowadays are all new money, footballers wives and converted farmhouses. Gwyneth was the MP for Crewe for years, representing the solid Cheshire of railways, and industry. Scourge of the loony left and the rocket salad branch of New Labour, she was a ruthless arguer.Splendid woman.

Just a rather fundamental point, but her surname was Dunwoody!
