My sister made them pay attention, and even got Condi to make a speech... I am particularly impressed by the Washington Post article. Lebanese TV was there too. All in all, a very nice commemoration. We got to see people we haven't seen either since then, or at least for a long time, even Daddy's college roommate showed up. Nonetheless... *sigh...* |

And when Bush Sr, then VP, came to the memorial service for the slain, and my grandmother (the mother of the dead foreign service officer) said something to him about attending, he said, and I quote, Aw, shucks, I wouldn't have missed it for the world (big grin). I kid you not. |
