This Friday will be the last night at the Port Mahon, St Clements. For the first two Fridays in May (2nd and 9th), the club will have a session at the Half Moon, also in St Clements, and then will move to the Folly Bridge in Abingdon Road - the 16th May.

We where in the Folly bridge for the Crucible gig. The landlord is great & really likes the music, the beer is fine & the room as good as it gets, if you are in the area GO to the folk night it WILL work in this venue.

This thread makes me think of Graham Metcalf.
How is he?
Has anyone heard from him since he went to Canada?

Best wishes for your new venue.
I Have had some great times at the Port Mahon and the club sings wonderfully well, our gigs there were always a high spot of our year.

Apparently Graham and Lucinde are coming back to the UK for the period around Whitby Folk Fest.

All the best with the move Pete and well done for booking Tom, an artist I really want to see/hear and have so far failed to do. If the quality of the floor singers is as good as the Chris Foster and Bára's gig at the old venue, it will be a great night. See you soon!

Chris

The floor singers are usually of the VERY best at the P M .This is one of our favourite clubs , only sorry that we are so far away (2 hours) but it is always worth the trip. We will come and see you at the new venue Best wishes

Just a reminder before Mudcat goes to other pastures, that this Friday, 2nd May, the club will be having an open session in the Half Moon, St Clements. The club will no longer be meeting at the Port Mahon.

As it happens, there will be a May morning session at the Victoria Arms, Old Marston. I'll be there, bleary eyed, then home for a nap, then playing for some kids Maypole dancing, job interview and finally teaching some beaver scouts how to do Constant Billy - little sticks and little hands. I can feel their bruises already.

The Friday night session will be a chance to chill out!
