Have been to two funerals lately in Vermont where a group called the Stockwell Brothers sang and played this with banjo's & mandolin..some lyrics below:
Listen to the call of the lonesome whippoorwill By the Way...this group.."Stockwell Brothers" seems to have been around for a long time in the bluegrass field and I have heard they did a stint in Washington, DC for a while...they have 2 recordings out...first called "Stobro" is terrific and new one (the name has gone out of my mind) is more update and less bluegrass but good...try them out. From: Mudjack JM, I'm going to take a shot at suggesting going to Musi-cal web site and looking for Peter Rowan as I recall he having aa bluegrass album by that title.
