29 Apr 08 - 02:01 PM (#2328856) Subject: RE: my threads keep getting deleted From: Bonnie Shaljean Did they make it to the main board and then get zapped, or did they never appear at all? I've had the latter happen a couple of times today with ordinary posts. If they got zapped, what were they about? G'wan, tell...

29 Apr 08 - 02:02 PM (#2328857) Subject: my threads keep getting deleted II From: glueman This is surreal. I put a new and very nice thread on about Deering and it lasted 30 seconds on the board. Can't reply to my own threads or anyone else's either. I'm speechless (literally). Don't expect a reply, it won't let me! |

29 Apr 08 - 02:14 PM (#2328870) Subject: RE: my threads keep getting deleted II From: catspaw49 And I just refreshed it. Threads often move down quickly......Either trace or use the thread title search next time. Spaw |

29 Apr 08 - 02:29 PM (#2328889) Subject: RE: my threads keep getting deleted II From: katlaughing glueman, You can click on your name in any of your postings and it will lead you to a listing of ALL of your postings where you can find previous threads, etc. To keep track of a thread, you can go to the far right of any title listed and choose Trace, as Catspaw suggested, and click on that. That will save a link to that thread on your Personal Page. Also, as Spaw said, threads drop off of the active list quickly if they are not posted to...to find one enter a word which you remember was in the title, in the search box at the top of the thread titles. Then, use the Drop Down menu to choose a length of time to search. If you've set the filter back long enough, your thread should show up after you hit Go. Hope this helps, kat |

29 Apr 08 - 04:51 PM (#2329021) Subject: RE: my threads keep getting deleted II From: katlaughing browser seems like a likely suspect, Spaw...I've been having some problems with the new beta version of Mozilla, but usually I can just hit refresh and it comes up okay. |

30 Apr 08 - 11:02 AM (#2329791) Subject: RE: my threads keep getting deleted II From: Paul Burke Sometimes you post, and the thread doesn't update. Hit the 'back' button, copy your text, go back to the forum top level, reselect the thread, paste your wit and wisdom, and it will probably post the second time. Or reconsider what you were saying and see if it was worthwhile anyway. |

30 Apr 08 - 03:42 PM (#2330054) Subject: RE: my threads keep getting deleted II From: Joe Offer I did a little tweaking that may help glueman and blowzabella and other AOL people. Paul is talking about a different matter, submitting a post and then finding it didn't post. I'm starting to believe that the source of this is in my own computer, and not at Mudcat. I've been able to get around the problem at times, but not to identify it completely. If you have the porblem, do what Paul says to try to save the text of your lost message, and then paste that text into a word processor document. Close your browser and open it again. Or, better yet, switch to another browser like Firefox for a while. -Joe- |

01 May 08 - 10:56 AM (#2330618) Subject: RE: my threads keep getting deleted II From: GUEST,leeneia I often find my posts don't post. Usually, it's because I failed to hit 'Submit Message.' This is esp. likely if the 'Submit Message' button is off the screen. It's a silly error, but it's pretty common, I suspect. |
