I always considered Dave to be the musician who studied Bert Jansch's style and then really ran with it. Check out this beautiful piece of playing from an appearance on "The Old Grey Whistle Test" sometime in the 70s. By the way, he also built the guitar he's playing.

I always liked that Dave Evans tune. That link also lead to some other good guitar playing links.

I enjoyed watching that - thanks.I saw him play it live a few times, although in those days I was a trad fundamentalist and didnt like that kind of playing much. Now I'm more openminded - great technique, even tho he does fluff it a bit on the video.Dave came out of the Bristol music scene along with Steve Tilston and others. He was playing that green guitar when I knew him.I stopped with him a few times in his flat in Brussels - it was a long time ago,but everywhere you turned you tripped over waccy baccy and bloody pyramids!A bit of a hippy was Dave.

Stefan Grossman's Guitar Workshop is re-releasing the old Kicking Mule guitar catalog. The first one out, with a tablature pdf file of many of the tracks, should be SGGW105 Contemporary Guitar Workshop, with a number of cuts by Dave.

There's an excellent Dave Evans CD The Words In Between here on Amazon. Its all his first album and the acoustic stuff from his second.
